Prof. Dr. Biswo Kallyan Parajuli: The Campus Web Has Been a Great Site for People around the Globe

TU-PNC, 26 Jan. 2016: The Prithvi Narayan Campus website was launched on Friday, April 3, 2015 (Chaitra 20, 2071 BS). The site is now live and a total redesign. It is also mobile-friendly that can be visited from around the world.  

When asked about the visitors’ perceptions in one’s personal and professional life, Dr. Biswo Kallyan Parajuli, a Professor at the Department of Sociology/Anthropology said, “The campus web has been a great site for people around the globe.” “The site is well-designed and provides you with information about the campus and its academic programs for students, teachers and visitors,” he added.

Similarly, Prof. Dr. AD Mishra, a faculty at the Department of Chemistry, responding to our reporter’s queries about the website, said that the site is very interesting and informative. “When I’ve free time I usually enjoy visiting the site. I really appreciate the website team for updating the activities of the campus. It’s a great job” he added.

The internet survey shows that the site has been visited by more than 40 thousand users of more than 25 countries including the domestic users. For instance, in the month of January 2016, the countries excluding Nepal where the site has been visited are Russia, United States, Japan, Algeria, Great Britain, China, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Egypt, Ukraine, Australia, United Arab Emirates, India, Luxembourg, Iceland, Canada, Morocco, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Finland, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Belarus and others.

The users can also like the news/events and blog articles, comment on them and share them on facebook. However, the users cannot be friends with the campus facebook profile due to its official status. There will be regular updates on facebook, a member of website team informed this reporter.

The site has more than 100 pages, using more 200 pictures and about 150 downloadable files. Dr. Min Pun, the co-ordinator of the Website Monitoring Team informed that the site will have e-journal and e-syllabus pages soon. Similarly, the site will also have its interview menu soon, he further said.

Recently, the site has introduced a new menu called “Blog” that covers the opinion articles by its faculty and scholars from other institutions.

The site is managed and monitored by an official team authorized by the campus administration that includes Dr. Min Pun, a faculty at the Department of English, as Co-ordinator, and Rajendra Subedi and Chandra B. Khadka, both administrative staff, as members.
