TU-PNC, 14 June 2018 – Prithvi Narayan Campus has recently submitted its Self-Study Report (SSR) to the University Grants Commission (UGC), Nepal for the Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) process. The SSR was submitted by Campus Chief and Chairperson of Internal Quality Assurance and Accreditation Committee (IQAAC) of Prithvi Narayan Campus Prof. Dr. Chandra Bahadur Thapa and Coordinator of QAA/Reform Unit of Prithvi Narayan Campus Dr. Min Pun.

According to Dr. Pun, the SSR is the second step process towards the award of higher education quality certificate by the UGC to the higher education institutions in Nepal which meet the requirements for the quality certificate award. “The QAA/Reform Unit is working hard to reform the campus in order to get awarded the quality certificate from the UGC. I think, the campus has made a tremendous progress so far as it started the QAA process”, he further said.

Responding to the reporter, Campus Chief Dr. Thapa said that the campus would do anything to reform the campus and provide quality education to its students. He further claimed that the campus has given first priority to maintain the quality education so that the campus would prepare its students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

As per the provision of the UGC, a team of experts (pre-visit team) assigned by the UGC will visit the campus to confirm the next step of the QAA process, which is done prior to the Peer Review Team (PRT)’s verification and evaluation process of the applicant institution. The PRT will evaluate the campus and verify the data provided in the SSR.

According to the UGC source, the campus will be awarded the quality certificate within 6 to 8 months of the submission of the SSR to the UGC if the campus meets all requirements that are needed for award.
