Friendly Relations to Be Extended between Prithvi Narayan Campus and Two Japanese Universities

TU-PNC, 30 Dec. 2017 – Prithvi Narayan Campus and two Hokkaido-based Japanese universities have shown their interest to extending friendly relations between/among their institutions, it is learned.

Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Chandra Bahadur Thapa handed over a proposal of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to Prof. Dr. Bishnu Prasad Gautam of Wakkanai Hokusei Gakuen University and Prof. Dr. Kazuhiko Sato of Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan for academic exchange and international cooperation.

It is mentioned in the MoU that Prithvi Narayan Campus and two universities in Japan will develop academic exchange and international cooperation in the development of mutually beneficial exchange programs which will enhance the educational, cultural and scientific development of institutions of both countries. Exchange programs will take into force after the signing of MoU by the authorities of respective universities.

During the formal talk between/among the universities, Prof. Dr. Thapa said that this agreement will help establish friendly relations between the universities. “Both institutions have agreed that in support of our mutual interests in the field of education and research, and in accordance with terms and conditions agreed upon in the MoU”.

Wishing to extend a cordial relation between Prithvi Narayan Campus and Japanese universities, Prof. Dr. Gautam said that the institutions will recognize their strengths in research and education in the disciplines of science and technology, and their mutual interest in engaging themselves in academic cooperation.

Similarly, Prof. Dr. Sato said that this friendship will foster collaboration and provide opportunities for our institutions to have an international experience based on mutual benefit and reciprocity.

According to Associate Professor of English and QAA/Reform Unit Coordinator Dr. Min Pun who moderated the MoU, the purpose of this agreement is to facilitate advancement of knowledge and to share cultures. He further said, “Prithvi Narayan Campus will continue working with other universities across the world in order to internationalize higher education in our institution”.

Professors from Japanese universities were in the campus to give presentations on topics related to information technology, collaborative e-learning system and smart technology. Their trip to Nepal was facilitated by Ramji Gautam, a Lecturer at the Department of Zoology, Prithvi Narayan Campus.
