Committees Formed for QAA/EMIS Process

TU-PNC, 16 March 2016: The campus, in its recent move to participate in the Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) process, has formed a 6-member team called “Internal QAA Committee” under the chairmanship of the Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Debendra Bahadur Lamichhane. The committee will work on the QAA system of its institution. The committee also includes Assistant Campus Chief Nanda Lal Adhikari as Member Secretary, and Asst. Campus Chief Prof. Deepak Chandra Wagle, Finance Division Head Chiranjivee Thapaliya, Librarian Kishor Subedi and Associate Professor of English Dr. Min Pun as members.

The campus has also formed a 4-member team called “Self-Assessment Team (SAT) to work on the preparation of SSR. The SAT team includes Assistant Campus Chief Nanda Lal Adhikari as coordinator, Asst. Campus Chief Tara Raj Khanal, Finance Division Head Chiranjivee Thapaliya and Associate Professor of English Dr. Min Pun as members. This team is to visit the institutions which have received accreditation from the UGC and prepare a self-study report (SSR). The report will be submitted to the QAA Division of UGC for the certificate of accreditation. The team will prepare the report in 3 months, starting from the formation of the team.

Similarly, the campus has also authorized a 4-member team to work on the Education Management Information System (EMIS) annual report. The team includes Dr. Min Pun as Coordinator, and Hom Bahadur Thapa, Rajendra Subedi and Chandra Bahadur Khadka as members. The team will prepare a data system of higher education institution named Education Management Information System (EMIS) and publish a report. This includes a framework of indicators, tools and modality for annual data collection, regular data updating, analysis and reporting. The system will support progress monitoring of higher education institutions as well as higher education status of the country in general.

The campus has recently participated in the Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) system of its institution, it is learned. Based on the analysis of the documents submitted by the campus, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a letter of eligibility to participate in the process.

In the letter issued by the UGC, it has also instructed the campus to work on the preparation of Self-Study Report (SSR). Earlier, the campus had submitted its Letter of Intention (LoI) to participate in the process of QAA system of its institution.
